Spam
OCLC now has an improved solution for dealing with email spam getting into your QuestionPoint email reference work.
Captcha
Start by navigating to the Spam filter area. Log onto Admin, use the Select Service drop down to choose the Admin area, then click on the Forms button under the Institution Tab, then click the Spam Filter tab.
There are a couple of Spam fighting tools available to you. The primary one is Captcha and you simply turn it off or on. It will work on the OCLC hosted form on on your own form. This Spam fighting technique has already proven to be extremely effective and is highly recommended.
After filling out their question form

Patrons then are presented with the Captcha form, which they fill out to finish the submission process. This invovles typing in the "wavy" text. If a patron can't make out the wavy text they can either have the text read out loud to them by clicking Hear audio, or they can ask for another wavy text sample.

Referrer URL
The second method is to use the Referrer URL method. You enable the method and then enter in the URL, or URL range, that hold your access to your email forms. Make absolutely sure you include all the possible URLs that host your form. Then the OCLC servers will only access web forms from that specific URL. Again an effective technique and it can be used in conjunction with the Captcha method.
